Inside, there’s a WD stamp with a P (War Department code for 1941) over WD over 613. Fits chest up to 43 inches. Stitching is very good, though a bit weak on the shoulders. Overall, it’s in excellent condition.
The leather jerkin was introduced in the British Army in 1916 as an alternative to the greatcoat. It was durable, worn over Field Service dress, and became popular during World War II. It was widely worn by artillerymen, engineers, drivers, signallers, and even infantry for added protection in colder weather.
